As churches continue to adjust their approach to ministry in light of different restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, we at Lifeway and The Gospel Project want to continue to serve you well. In light of recent events both in the United States and internationally, here are the updated temporary permissions for using The Gospel Project for Kids materials.
Online Video Use
The permissions for using The Gospel Project resources that were originally granted through May 31, 2020 have been updated as follows:
Stand Alone Videos (extended through September 30, 2021)
Bible story videos, Questions from Kids videos, and missions videos may be shared only through a secure password protected or invite-only platform. This means that if you want to post the Bible story video itself as a stand-along resource for others to watch, it needs to be posted on a platform that limits access only to the people in your church that you provide access. We ask that each video be removed the week after they are shared and viewed by families and/or kids.
Embedded Videos (extended indefinitely)
Embedding Bible story videos, Questions from Kids videos, and missions videos, a into a longer teaching video does not require password protection. An example of this would be a 25-minute live streaming or recorded teaching video where you as a kids ministry leader talk about the session and as part of that video, you show the Bible story video. This type of video could be posted online without needing password protection. We ask that if these videos are posted online that they be removed the week after they are viewed by families and/or kids. Permission has been extended indefinitely, but could be restricted or retracted in the future.
Music Video Use (extended until further notice)
The following permissions are granted for online use of The Gospel Project/Lifeway Kids music videos until further notice:
- Songs must be part of a longer teaching video. (i.e. songs may not be uploaded to public sites individually)*
- Your church must have a current valid CCLI license AND a current valid CCLI Streaming License.**
- Your church agrees to report song use according to CCLI requirements and expectations.**
* Please remove these videos within 2 weeks after posting, and, if possible, use a password protected platform for sharing.
** If you have questions about CCLI licenses or reporting, start by talking to someone in the worship ministry area in your church.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for all the time and resources you are sharing! Everything has been extremely helpful and I’m so thankful we haven’t had to put our curriculum on pause.
Brian Dembowczyk says
We are grateful to serve you so that you can continue pointing kids to Jesus!
Chris Seely says
Thanks, Brian! I have been using The Gospel Project since it started, and even during this pandemic, we have been able to continue without missing a beat. Thank you for being flexible and providing more options for us to use!
Lori Kirkman says
What is going on with the print materials? I’m off cycle and need to order volume 4 as we resume in person children’s ministry in July. I normally order online, but it’s not letting me add items to my cart. I’ve tried calling Lifeway and tried using the online “chat” feature, with no success. I submitted an email to customer service, but thought I’d try here too. Any info is appreciated!
Aaron Armstrong says
Hi Lori, you should be able to get everything here: https://www.lifeway.com/en/shop/the-gospel-project/kids/summer-2019
Denine Silvernail says
Thank you so much for this option. This helps us in a huge way continue our Sunday Morning Large Group programming and the response has been awesome. We have been live streaming to Facebook Live on Sunday Mornings on a Facebook Private Group Page. (Westgate Kids Private Group) We only allow our Church families to join this page. Today we streamed our session to include the Bible Story, a 3 Minute Alarm Clock countdown and two music videos, Great is Thy Faithfullness and the Unit 17 verse song. Everything played fine during the stream but in checking back on the replay, Facebook appears to have muted the Alarm Clock Countdown as well as the two worship videos as a copyright violation which based on the information on this page should be acceptable until 7/31 is that correct? If so is there anything you can do to release this from Facebooks list of copyrighted material?
Laura Appleby says
I am the Children’s director at our church and we have purchased the regular summer curriculum. How do I access the videos online to share with families?
Brian Dembowczyk says
The videos will be on the discs in the leader kit if you purchased printed materials or will be in the digital bundle you purchased.
Judy Batisse says
Good Morning Brian
Just a quick question.
We have ordered in September the fall 2020 curriculum offered for the $357 my question is how do we know when to order the next curriculum for Ministry Grid? Will there be notice to do that as well as link etc…
Also, what is the time span of the fall curriculum by that i mean from what date to what date does it go to.
I do have the bill of purchase but it does not indicate the time period.
Thank you for your time.
Oh by the way my church is Bethel Missionary Church, Lindsay, Ont., Canada.
Judyb.
Brian Dembowczyk says
Winter content will be available in mid-October in Ministry Grid. Notice will be shared in several ways when it is available. Fall content runs through November.
Dale Johnson says
Hello. I just wanted to thank you for your help during this season of church life. I am in Tokyo Japan and our church is doing online KidzChurch using a password/registration required Zoom meeting each week. We are using “Off-Cycle” materials. (This is our second round of using TGP) We put the a worship video and the Bible story video (with Japanese subtitles) in a PowerPoint presentation and do it live with the kids each week.
We expect that we will continue with the online format even into Spring of 2021 probably, so will the November 30, 2020, date be extended?
Renee Hazlewood says
So for the embedded permissions, can we do short intro and then make use of the Bible story video and questions from kids? Because the on-line community is a new part of the body, I look forward to hearing how The Gospel Project will go forward supporting churches who may not be able to produce their own videos.
Aaron Armstrong says
Hi Renee, that’s correct. For the embedded videos, you would be putting together your own content and adding these videos in at the correct points.
Natasha Stogdill says
Is this curriculum translated into Czech? Or is there one with subtitles?
Aaron Armstrong says
It is not available in Czech at this time.
Jodi Pflaumer says
We are restarting our children’s ministry sessions this week, but it’s been enough time that I’ve lost track about which lesson is scheduled for January 31st lesson. Could you let me know?
Brian Dembowczyk says
The suggested use schedule places us in the middle of Volume 10, on the Doers of the Word session. All of the suggested use dates are on each volume’s bookmarks available on the additional resources page and on the enhanced CD.
Meredith says
Hello! Would love to be pointed to the permissions for print materials (PDFs, etc). Are we able to distribute these on our websites? Thank you!
Aaron Armstrong says
If you are posting them in a secure (password protected) system, yes.
Ashley Hickey says
Thank you so much for allowing us to post your videos. We have some church members that haven’t returned in person yet and families are enjoying going through the lessons and watching the videos together at home. Our Sunday School teachers love this curriculum as well!
Rebecca Peters says
Any further updates? Is the restriction still in place as of yesterday? We still have a lot of families at home. Thank you!
