One of the most important parts of a quality group experience is being prepared as a leader. And from the beginning (but not that beginning), The Gospel Project has been providing weekly leader training for every session of curriculum through LifeWay’s Ministry Grid training platform and posts and videos found here on the blog.
Recently, our teams at Lifeway began thinking about how we could improve our training to help you. So, we are making two important changes (and one relatively minor one) to the weekly leader training:
- Beginning with Volume 7, Jesus the Messiah, the weekly leader training will move from video to audio.
- We’re making this content more accessible! Not only will the training for all sessions be available in advance on Ministry Grid, but the weekly leader training will be available here on gospelproject.com each week, and accessible on podcast platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Stitcher. It will also be made available via Lifeway’s Digital Pass system.

What day of the week will your training be available?
Here’s when you can expect to see your age group’s leader training in your podcast app and here on the site:
- Monday: The Gospel Project for Preschool and Kids Weekly Leader Training, hosted by Brian Dembowczyk and Karen Jones
- Tuesday: The Gospel Project for Adults Weekly Leader Training, hosted by Aaron Armstrong and Daniel Davis
- Tuesday: The Gospel Project for Students Weekly Leader Training hosted by Andy McLean and Amanda Mejias
We hope these changes to the weekly leader training will be helpful for you as you prepare to point your kids, students, and adults to Jesus. The new audio weekly leader training kicks off February 24th, so check back here soon for more details.

If I use the printed materials, leader guides….etc, will I still have access to the Ministry grid ????

Aaron Armstrong says
Absolutely. Everyone has free access to this training on Ministry Grid. All you need to do is sign in to your account (and if you don’t have one, it will let you register quickly and easily). It’s just going to be audio instead of video.

Hi,
We love the gospel project but we are still fairly new at using GP. we teach 2-4th grade.
We have a few questions:
1. does the gospel project have a song on dvd to help kids learn the books of the bible in Sunday school and if so, what other resources do you have that could also be used at home?
2. does GP offer training to help leaders make sure we are using GP to the fullest and using all the resources that are available to us?
Thank you
Paul and Debbie Helton
Brian Dembowczyk says
Hi, Paul and Debbie. We do not have a song like that, but you do want to look over the Getting Started page and Additional Resources page on this site for resources that you might find helpful.

My church is using an older edition of Gospel Project material. We started this material a while ago and are not on the same teaching cycle as you currently are. I’m a new children’s ministry director with some new leaders and would like to take advantage of the weekly training but seem to only be able to find updated editions of the material and training for what you are currently offering (not volumes that are after or well before).
Do you have weekly leader training available for those who are working on units well before or after volume 7? Also, can churches upgrade to the current edition of the material or would we have to purchase all new material?
Brian Dembowczyk says
Hi, the leader materials links are available for each quarter on the Additional Resources page, or you can access them directly in our Vimeo account.
There really is no “upgrade” because The Gospel Project always produces brand new content each cycle and is meant for churches to continue purchasing new materials as they release.
