This Sunday, the first Sunday in March 2023, leaders and group members using The Gospel Project for Adults likely will notice the inclusion of a QR code in each session.
- For the Leader Guide, this will be included on the Group Time Introduction page.

- For the Daily Discipleship Guide, this will be included on the second page in the Group time spread, in the top right corner.

Hopefully the QR codes are self-explanatory, but just to make sure . . .
With the start of our current cycle of The Gospel Project for Adults, which began in Fall 2021, we made a decision not to print the Scripture passages in the Daily Discipleship Guide. Our hope was that group members would use their own Bibles during the Group Time and feel encouraged to seek out the wider context of the Scripture passages and potentially seek insight from a plethora of Bible translations in group members’ hands. While well-intentioned on our part, we have heard of complications this has introduced for your groups.
So, with the Spring 2023 quarter, the start of the New Testament portion of our curriculum cycle, we are including QR codes in the Leader Guide and Daily Discipleship Guide to provide convenient access to the Scripture passages for the session on your mobile phone or device. The code in both books is the same for each session, taking the person to a post on gospelproject.com that has the Scripture passages in either CSB or ESV.

**Leader, in case mobile service in your area is too slow or spotty for easy access for your group members during group time, you can click on the link for “CSB PDF download” or “ESV PDF Download” and have a one-page, translation specific PDF with the Scripture passages that you can print, copy, and hand out to group members.
We hope this solution for the Scripture passages helps with your group dynamics, knowing that most people have a mobile phone available, but perhaps it doesn’t. We would appreciate hearing your feedback, both positive and negative, so we can know how we might be able to improve this situation and the curriculum even more in the future. You can comment on this post or you can find my email address on the masthead (p. 4) in your Leader Guide or Daily Discipleship Guide.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve your church and groups through The Gospel Project for Adults, and know that we want to serve you well so you can see the glory of Christ in all the Scriptures.
In Christ,
Daniel Davis
Team Leader, The Gospel Project for Adults
Where can I find the posted PDF versions of this? I am unable to make the QR codes work for group.
Alina, the PDFs of the Scripture translations are available as links/downloads on the site the QR code links you to. For this coming Sunday’s Scriptures, you can go here. Click on your translation choice to expand the content, and then at the top is a PDF download link you can click. Are you able to access the QR code link prior to your group time, so you can download the PDF for your translation choice and then make copies, if needed?
Thank you – this link is exactly what I needed. It would be extremely helpful to include these links with the Additional Resources for each unit so that everything was available in one spot.
Going forward, I hope everyone involved in the decision-making process will re-consider the decision to take the scriptures out of the learners guide. I have taught using the Gospel Project for several years and absolutely love the curriculum, resources, etc. However, this single issue is forcing me to consider other curriculum options. I teach a group of ladies who are grounded in the Word as a daily habit. However, our room set up does not allow for tables and they have difficulty balancing their Bible and learner guide. That is further complicated by the lack of tech ability to access a QR code. While this handout is helpful, it is not the solution for this problem.
I understand, Alina. I’m sorry this decision has complicated the dynamic of your classroom. We are reconsidering this decision and considering many aspects of the curriculum in order to produce the best possible resource for churches to use. If you have any further feedback, I’d be grateful to hear it. You can email me directly at daniel.davis@lifeway.com. And I will begin adding these to the additional resources post.
